Title: Better than Apple TV OS.
Review: I’ve got the latest, most powerful version of streaming hardware from both Apple TV and Google TV. And goodness gracious, is Google far better.First of all, the home screen is genuinely interesting. Everything I might want to watch is already there. A movie I’m thinking about is just five clicks away. I don’t even have to search for everything. It reads my mind. A mix of YouTube recommendations and movies recommendations. So spot on. I’ve found great shows I like to watch. It’s just amazing.Apple, on the other hand, gives you absolutely nothing but a grid of apps. You have to open up each app individually to see their own recommendations. Please, it would be much better to aggregate recommendations across services into one beautiful user interface the way it is on Google TV OS.Also, this may be controversial, I find the remote control design for Google TV OS far, far better. First of all, it has a built-in light and speaker for when you are trying to find it. So useful! The Apple TV OS remote does not have a light or a speaker or Precision Finding, so it’s nearly impossible to find and much easier to lose due to it being much, much thinner. It will slide into crevices. Also, the Apple TV remote control has a very finicky trackpad that’s unnecessary. The Google TV OS remote control does use disposable batteries. That could be a tiny bit disappointing compared to a rechargeable one. It is still overall better designed because it’s more ergonomic. And I do use the hotkey buttons for YouTube and Netflix. The way they implement hotkeys is actually rather nice when usually- these hotkeys for apps are just a crowded obnoxious mess on most other TV remote controls.Where Apple TV has clear benefits is if you are interested in activities besides video consumption, because the Apple TV is also capable of playing some mobile games, and some Apple Arcade games with a connected controller. It is also capable of syncing to your Apple Watch and doing follow-along workout videos with Apple Fitness. Neither of these extra-curricular activities interest me, and I’m still going to go to the Google TV OS because its YouTube app is far more functional. Videos will auto-play when you hover the cursor over them. This is not a fact on Apple TV OS.Also, Google TV OS has a much more versatile option for keyboards. The Apple TV OS linear keyboard all in one row is maddening! On top of being forced to use Apple’s dictation model that has always been far inferior to Google’s speech-to-text model. Volume control is another interesting aspect because Google TV OS shows you a representation with numbers 0 to 100, so you can really dial that into exactly what you want. Apple TV OS, on the other hand, just has a sliding bar similar to how it looks on iPhone. There’s no numbers. Ridiculous for a television.

Title: Works wonderfully
Review: Works quite well!, no laggyness or anything, i dont quite like the normal menu but project ivy made it wayyy better!, its compatible with every app. and with project ivy it allows you to use it as a cursor, i use the Ethernet for it but the WiFi connectivity was alright too!. and the video quality is fantastic (it is for 4k) i just wish i supported more codecs.

Title: If you have a 4k TV Sets you have to have this player
Review: My greatest hobby is watching TV, for that reason I loved to test streaming players, such as Amazon Fire cube, Roku (of course) Tivo 4K , etc, so I got this to compare against the other ones, and so far I love it, because1) easy to setup of course if you already have a google account.2) the UI is friendly easy to manage with the remote.3) the device comes with ethernet port and wifi, I choose ethernet because I have fiber optic thus will render better picture than the wi-fi.I would recommend over Roku in my opinion, this box performs better, regarding Fire Cube the jury’s still in.

Title: Great for what it does
Review: So, this streamer is great at what it says it can do. It has nice hardware, plenty of RAM and storage, so that your apps will load fast all the time AND you’ll have plenty of room for many, many apps. I’m impressed… but also disappointed in some lacking features.I have a device called an Amigo 7x. Very “rare” and not really that popular, BUT it’s amazing. It’s as fast as the Google TV Streamer at opening apps, how fast pages load, how apps can load back to right where you were after going back to the home screen, etc. I’m sure the newer Google model has some extra codecs or something that the Amigo 7x doesn’t have as it is an older product than this Google TV Streamer. I am glad the the Google model has 1 Gigabit Ethernet, though. My Amigo 7x only has 100 Mbit Ethernet, BUT that’s more than enough for streaming from any app EXCEPT my 25-50GB movies on Plex. But I can use Wi-Fi and it is just as responsive. Now, here’s what I’m a bit disappointed in. The Amigo 7x has 2x USB ports. A USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 port. A MicroSD card slot. Then it has HDMI and Ethernet, which the Google device has, also. On the Amigo 7x, I can plug in a wired Xbox controller and it not only recognizes it, it recognizes the model of the controller. I have a BT mouse that is BT 5.2 and also has a 2.4ghz adapter. I can connect that adapter to the other USB port and use the mouse on the Amigo 7x and then switch to BT and control my PC… all from my living room (PC is in another room with an HDMI cable connected to my TV).So.. I have mixed feelings. I really gained no functionability dropping a Benjamin on this thing.4 stars because it lacks features that a much cheaper, mostly unheard of model has and doesn’t do anything any faster/quicker/better that I’ve seen. The Amigo 7x supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, Dolby Digital Plus.. I mean, it seems to do everything the Google model does and more. So, that’s why I’m a bit disappointed. It is NOT worth it at this price. That’s the truth. HOWEVER, if you’re considering this or something like the Amazon Fire Stick, then from what I’ve seen at my friend’s house with his Amazon Fire Stick (some 4K version), go with the Google model. The Amazon model is SO slow. Way underpowered or lacking in RAM or something to smoothly operate. If you happen to have an Amigo 7x, no need to go to the Google model. I do need to test how Steam Link works and GeForce now on each. I assume the Google model does handle those things better, so if THAT is something you must have, then upgrade to the Google TV Streamer.Haven’t had any issues out of it, though.

Title: a nice way to upgrade your old tv
Review: The Google TV Streamer 4K is a streaming box that makes it easy to watch shows and movies in sharp 4K quality with a smooth interface, voice remote, and smart home control features. It’s fast and works well with most big apps like Netflix and YouTube, and the picture and sound look great on a good TV. Some people find a few apps missing or small issues, but overall it’s a solid choice for upgrading your TV streaming experience.
